Kenya prisons take on Sahel in Africa Club Championship

Reigning national men’s volleyball champions Kenya Prisons will take on hosts Sahel this evening in their opening match of the Africa men’s volleyball club championship in Tunis, Tunisia.

The Prisons warders were drawn in group ‘D’ alongside hosts Sahel, AS Police of Benin and Espoir of Côte d’Ivoire. Group ‘A’ has powerhouse Al Ahly of Egypt, Bafia of Cameroon, Esperance of Tunisia and Ahly Benghazi of Libya while group ‘B’ brings together Alswehly of Libya, Alnahda of Sudan, FAP of Cameroon and AS Finances of Benin.

Group ‘C’ has Police VI of Botswana, Douanes of Burundi, Kibungo of Rwanda, Assarya of Libya and Bordj of Algeria. El Gaish of Egypt is the defending champions after seeing off Esperance of Tunisia in finals last year in Cairo, Egypt.

The women’s Club Championship will be held from 5th-18th in Kelibia, Tunisia.

Kenya will be represented by Kenya Pipeline which has won the title seven times.
