Consumer electronics brand Ramtons has signed up Kilimall to retail its products online as it seeks to grow its market beyond offline shops.

The two companies signed a partnership last week that will see Ramtons target the growing online shopping population Kenya.

Through Kilimall, Ramtons will be offering products in the home appliances category including fridges, cookers, irons, toasters, kettles, heaters and fans among others. This expands Kilimall’s product offering by including a brand that is popular in the Kenyan market.

“This partnership is based on the fact that more and more Kenyans are buying goods online,” said Ramtons Development Manager Ronak Popat. “There is increased demand for home and living products and Kilimall will help us reach an even wider market.”

Kilimall Managing Director Victor Ma said the leading shopping mall has become a lifestyle market for many Kenyan shoppers. He said since the launch last week, Ramtons brands have been performing well.

In the home category, Kilimall also retails other renowned brands such as LG, Samsung, Hotpoint, Bruhm, Armco and Phillips, among others.

Online shopping has been picking in Kenya over the past few years, boosted by growing internet penetration and home delivery.

Kilimall has signed delivery partnerships with four leading service providers who include G4S, Posta Kenya, Fargo Courier and Aramex to ensure delivery in the shortest time possible.
