Weatherman: Expect rains throughout the Pope’s visit

The Kenya Meteorological Service has warned of continuing heavy rainfall across the country even as Pope Francis arrives Wednesday evening.
In the latest seven days forecast, the Kenya Meteorological Service says, Nairobi County that is expected to host the Pontiff beginning Wednesday through to Friday will be wet.
In the forecast spanning 24th to 30th November, the Kenya Meteorological Service says the central highlands including Nairobi County, the counties of; Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka are expected to experience morning rains throughout the forecast period
The forecast indicates that, parts of Southeast lowlands including the counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos and Taita Taveta are expected to receive heavy rainfall of above 20mm over 24hrs on Thursday. The rest of the days the South Eastern lowlands will receive morning rains.
According to the forecast, the Northeast counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo are expected to receive heavy rainfall on Friday through to Sunday that could result in flooding over low lying areas and those with poor drainage, while landslides are likely on steep slopes.
The Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley including the counties of; Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii,Nyamira, Transnzoia, Baringo, Uasingishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Laikipia, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia are expected to experience heavy rainfall through the week.
The Weatherman has announced a reprieve for the Northwestern counties of Turkana, West Pokot and Samburu that have been experiencing rainstorms that recently displaced over 600 families in Leilata village of Samburu East Sub-County.
The forecast however indicates that the northwestern region will on Tuesday experience showers and thunderstorms over few places
The Coastal strip counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale are expected to experience morning showers over few places with afternoon showers expected on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
