Harambee Stars draw Pool F in 2019 AFCON

National soccer team Harambee Stars will face Ghana, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia in Pool ‘F’ in the 2019 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers. 

Kenya last featured in the Africa Nations Cup in 2004 in Tunisia where they were eliminated in the group stage. The draw for the 2019 Africa Nations Cup which will be held in Cameroun was made last evening in Libreville, Gabon.

Neighbors Uganda and Tanzania will face off in Pool ‘L’ which has Cape Verde and Lesotho. Cameroon, who qualify automatically as hosts, are in Group ‘B’ alongside 1976 champions Morocco, Malawi and either Comoros or Mauritius.

Record seven-time winners Egypt will meet North African rivals Tunisia, who won in 2004, in Group J.

African Cup of Nation defending Champs Ivory Coast have a date with Guinean, Rwanda and Central African Republic in Pool H, while Nigeria have been polled against South Africa, Libya and Seychelles.

Winners of each group and the three best second placed sides will proceed to the tournament that will be hosted in Cameroon.
