Shadrack Maluki elected Kenya Judo Association Chair

By Fredrick Muoki

Embattled National Olympic Committee of Kenya Assistant Treasurer Stephen Arap Soi is now out of Kenya Judo Association hierarchy after he failed to defend his seat during the national polls held Saturday at the Nyayo national stadium Nairobi.

Soi who was vying for the Deputy Chair position in the elections withdrew from the race in the last minute due to what he termed as personal reasons.

Soi is among National Olympic Committee of Kenya officials who have been charged in court for alleged abuse of office and theft of national team kits.

During the elections, Shadrack Maluki is now the new Chairman after being elected unopposed while Dancun Shemirio will be his deputy.

The new officials will now focus on preparing teams, both men and women to represent Kenya in the upcoming East African Judo championships set for 2nd through to 6th March this year in Zanzibar.

The teams are expected to  leave the Country on 28th of this month for Zanzibar ahead of the competition.
