Mathioya constituency has become the first commercial I-hub centre in Murang’a County with all its four divisional headquarters getting Free WIFI connection.

Residents will now use the free WIFI courtesy of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru lauded the initiative saying it will provide room for creation of much needed jobs for the youth.

The youth in Mathira  Constituency in Murang’a County now have an avenue through which to exploit innovative talents in ICT.

The innovation hub centre is expected to not only create employment but also provide training on how to secure and maintain online jobs.

Speaking at the centre, CS Mucheru urged the youths to positively embrace the opportunity rather than criticizing development projects adding that the government is striving to counter challenges that come with internet jobs.

Area Member of Parliament Clement Wambugu urged Kenyans to avoid negative stereotypes propagated regarding frequent use of the internet.

Timothy Muchiri, a student and beneficiary of the WIFI project also lauded the program.
