Prisons through to Africa men’s volleyball championship quarterfinals

National champions Kenya Prisons have qualified to the quarterfinal of the Africa men’s volleyball club championship after beating Espoir of Ivory Coast in three straight sets in Tunisia.

Prisons, who needed a win to secure a last eight slot, faced stiff competition from their group D rivals in the first set before edging it 25-21.

The Kenyan giants upped their game in the second set easily winning 25-16 before dominating and winning the final set 25-13.

Prisons will now face Al Ahly of Egypt in the last eight Thursday night in Tunis.

The other quarterfinal matches will see Sahel play compatriots Esperance; Al Swehly will face Assarya both of Libya while Bordj of Algeria will take on FAP of Cameroon.
