Information, Communications and Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has said Kenya and Angola governments will continue to work closely in order to strengthen bilateral ties.

Mucheru said he is looking forward to working with the Angolan government on the area of telecommunications where both countries can benefit from the Smart Africa, Mpesa and Mkopa initiatives.

Speaking Wednesday when he received the Angola Ambassador to Kenya, Virgilio Marques de Faria who paid him a courtesy call at his Teleposta office, the CS said the two countries have many projects that they can partner for the benefit of their citizens.

Ambassador Virgilio said his country plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with Kenya in the area of telecommunications, and in particular, the Mpesa initiative that is very successful in the country.
