Heavily armed security personnel have been deployed to Mukutani area in Baringo County following the killing of 15 people by armed bandits on Tuesday evening.

The incident appears to be a retaliatory attack after two women were ambushed and killed near Mosuro center by armed assailants over the weekend.

Even after the government launched an operation to pursue armed bandits following weeks of relentless attacks on innocent residents, heavily armed assailants made a daring attack in Mukutani area in Baringo that left fifteen people dead.

The attack left residents in shock with survivors being rushed to the nearest medical facilities. Three victims among them two children were rushed to Marigat hospital for attention by officials from the Kenya Red Cross society.

A six year old girl was referred to St. Mary’s Gilgil in Nakuru County with a bullet still lodged in her chest.

The development coming as leaders from Samburu County called on the National government to better equip Kenya Police Reservists in Suyan area Samburu North Sub County.

Samburu North MP Alois Lentoimaga says the move would enable the reservists in the region to effectively work with police officers to guarantee security.

His sentiments coming just days after a ten-year-old boy was shot dead by armed bandits
